www.TravelsWithSheila.com ex-Marine and I hailed down a sangtaew one afternoon (an open sided truck with seats on both sides) and set off to see what all the ballyhoo was over Lonely Beach. When we arrived at the ferry port of Koh Chang, large numbers of "younger" people were jumping into sangtaews going that direction. If you are on an extreme budget, Lonely Beach is the place for you. Want to squeeze two people into a cottage without air conditioning? Think .00 US per night for two persons. This is the latest in spot for backpackers and anyone else who wants to settle into an isolated and cheap "beach existence."
